A glimpse of our history illustrates the close inter-relationship between the province and the city. As the center of education, trade and commerce even during the Spanish Era, Laoag is consistently considered a partner of the province in its quest for peace, progress and prosperity thereby making it the capital and the show-window of this nothern Ilocos province.

     It is only fitting, therefore, to join hands with the rest of the Ilocos Norteneans, particularly in this joyful event which is made more meaningful with the commemmoration of the 180th Foundation Anniversary of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur on February 2.
